We are pleased to highlight the research paper titled “Bio-assisted integration of a Co–N/S coordination network with functionalized graphene oxide for supercapacitor and fluorescence sensing applications.”
This study presents a sustainable, bio-assisted approach to developing a cobalt–nitrogen/sulfur coordinated graphene hybrid using Calotropis gigantea latex. The developed material demonstrates promising supercapacitor performance, achieving a specific capacitance of 598.4 F g⁻¹ at 10 mV s⁻¹ and approximately 94% capacitance retention after 5,000 charge–discharge cycles. It also exhibits a fluorescence turn-on response toward aluminium ions (Al³⁺) under the investigated conditions.
The research highlights the potential of bio-functionalized nanomaterials for sustainable energy storage and fluorescence-based sensing applications.
